EON Berhad (“EON”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad, recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary with the EON & Sahabat Autofest 2024, its largest annual event at the EON Headquarters in Glenmarie, Shah Alam. The event brings an amazing multi-brand selection of cars, as well as motorcycles and services to prospective buyers under one roof.
Chairman of EON, Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, launched the event in a ceremony attended by over 150 customers, business partners, and other guests. Also present was the CEO of EON, Akkbar Danial as well as the management teams of EON and DRB-HICOM Berhad.
In his opening speech, Akkbar said that this year’s event was special as it celebrates EON’s 40 years of providing mobility solutions to the Malaysian public.
“EON has delivered cars to Malaysians for the past four decades. Over the years, we have evolved from being the exclusive dealer for PROTON into what we are today – Malaysia’s largest multi-brand car dealer, all under one roof. The EON & Sahabat Autofest 2024, with its attractive packages and discounts, is our way of saying thank you to all our customers and supporters,” he added.
Akkbar also highlighted EON’s focus on digital innovation, with a new end-to-end digital car financing platform being unveiled at the event. Powered by EON Capital Sdn. Bhd., the company’s car financing arm, the platform enables almost instant approvals for financing application and fund disbursement through partnerships with banks and other relevant parties.
“Buying a car has never been easier, faster, and safer. Starting here at the EON & Sahabat Autofest 2024 customers can choose the car that they want, secure financing online and given that all requirements are met, they could even potentially drive it home within the same day,” he said.
Visitors to the EON & Sahabat Autofest 2024 was treated to a dazzling line-up of car models from popular brands like PROTON, Mitsubishi, Audi, Volkswagen and Honda where they are able to test-drive and make bookings. Car highlights include the recently launched PROTON S70 and smart#1 electric vehicle, while motorcycle enthusiasts have the opportunity to test ride and book the latest two-wheeled offerings by MODENAS and KAWASAKI.
Customers who place orders and apply for new car financing via EON’s new digital car financing platform during the three days are in the running to win exciting prizes worth RM100,000 as well as the Grand Prize of a brand-new Proton S70.
Other participating brands such as AVIS car rental, PUSPAKOM, Pos Malaysia, and Petromin Express, a quick-stop car service centre will also be present at the event. In addition to that, DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia staff are on hand to guide prospective university students interested in pursuing higher education relating to the automotive and other industries.
A Bazaar Raya is also organised as an added attraction at the EON & Sahabat Autofest 2024 in anticipation of the upcoming month of Ramadhan and Hari Raya celebrations. A variety of vendors with their fashion, décor, food, and other offerings have been lined up together with a host of fun carnival-like activities such as food trucks, celebrity appearances, and a dedicated kids’ zone.
